Discover Garnier's Micellar Peeling Water

Dealing with dry and uneven skin texture that’s dulling your natural glow? You need to try our new Micellar Gentle Peeling Water! The gentle formula swiftly removes make-up and fully cleanses skin of impurities, dirt and oil but also is our first Micellar water to exfoliate at the same time. The active ingredients (1% PHA + Glycolic Acid) target dead skill cells and uneven skin texture via chemical exfoliation. Find out more about face peeling treatments and why we recommend our micellar water.

The benefits of face peeling treatments

Skin peels have historically been thought of as a salon-only treatment – but now face peeling gels and cleansers allow you to give your skin a quick refresh at home (and at a much more affordable price tag). Face peeling and exfoliation essentially refers to removing dead skill cells and also stimulates new surface skin cell renewal for smooth skin texture and glowing skin. This process is also popular for those with visible pores; by removing any unwanted dirt and oil, you can unclog your pores and reduce their appearance.

What is the difference between a physical & chemical exfoliant?

Both chemical and physical exfoliants remove dead skin cells leaving skin smoother and refreshed. Chemical exfoliants are active ingredients such as PHA’s or Glycolic Acid that boost skin surface cell renewal and help improve uneven skin texture/ tone and minimise pores, while physical exfoliants often contain abrasive small particles that work by scrubbing away dead skin cells.

Our best exfoliating make-up remover

Micellar water is a popular make-up remover because it takes a gentle approach and hydrates your skin while effectively removing makeup, dirt, and oils. It’s made up of micelles that bind to debris so they’re easier to remove – meaning the product requires minimal scrubbing to work and so can be gentler on sensitive skin.

We’ve combined the best of both worlds with our Micellar Gentle Peeling Water. The All-in-1 formula removes make-up, deeply cleanses the skin while also gently exfoliating to remove dead cells and smoothing out your uneven skin texture.

By hydrating, cleansing and exfoliating, this all-in-one option restores your skin’s natural glow and can be used daily for easy upkeep or to remove your makeup whenever needed.

What makes the formula so gentle?

When people hear the words ‘peel’ or ‘chemical exfoliant’ it can sometimes set off alarm bells and panic the product will be harsh or stripping and skin might become irritated or red. However, this is not the case with Garnier Micellar Peeling water. This hypoallergenic formula maintains skin barrier function and is suitable for sensitive skin.

The formula is designed to be extra gentle - think of PHA as AHA's little/gentler sister - it is a larger molecule, which makes it slower to penetrate the skin, ultimately making the exfoliating effect gentler.

If you’re looking for alternative options that incorporate Micellar and you particularly struggle with blackheads, we also recommend trying the Micellar Purifying Jelly Water with Charcoal & Salicylic Acid. This hydrating formula helps to mattify and purify your skin while the gentle jelly texture soothes your skin as it’s applied. Salicylic acid is often used by those dealing with blemish-prone skin, it is  applied to loosen dead cells and help your skin to shed them.

For those with particularly dry skin, the Garnier Hyaluronic Aloe Water is a great option for maximum hydration. The formula incorporates hyaluronic acid, known for its intensely hydrating properties that helps your skin retain water. This complements the Aloe Vera, which is naturally cooling while also providing a protective layer for the skin that traps moisture inside.

For those focused on adding glow, we also recommend our Vitamin C Micellar Water. Known for its brightening and illuminating properties, Vitamin C takes this formula to the next level while the Micellar helps gently remove unwanted impurities. Vitamin C is often used to target the appearance of hyperpigmentation and it also works as an antioxidant, meaning it helps protect the skin against free radical damage caused by everyday stressors.

How to use Garnier's micellar peeling water

Ready to try the Micellar Peeling Water ? You can use it to remove your makeup or just for a quick skin refresh. For best use, we recommend applying a small amount to a cotton or eco pad and gently wiping the face, eyes and lips. There’s no need to rinse it off afterwards and you can use daily or as needed but we do recommend avoiding direct sun exposure straight afterwards.
