1936: The Summer That Changed Everything
Before 1936, summer holidays weren't really a thing for everyone. When paid leave was introduced in France, families finally headed to the coast! Our founder saw everyone enjoying the sun but realised their skin needed a shield. He created the first-ever filtered sun oil so everyone could enjoy the beach.
1940s – 1950s: An Icon is Born
Post-war, the world was ready for some fun! We introduced our famous sun ambassadors and started making sun-care easier for busy families. We launched the first-ever mousse and sprays—because who wants to spend forever applying cream when the sea is calling? We even headed to the mountains with Ambre Ski to protect winter explorers!
1960s – 1970s: The Ultimate Family Road Trip
Summer road trips became a family tradition! We realised that different skin needs different love, so we pioneered hydrating milks and the first-ever after-sun range. We made sure that from the youngest to the oldest, everyone’s skin felt soothed and hydrated after a day in the dunes.
1980s – 1990s: High-Tech Protection for All
As we all started staying more active, our science got even stronger. We introduced the legendary Mexoryl XS filter and launched high SPF protection specifically for kids and sensitive skin. We became the experts that parents trust, making sure everyone could stay "out and about" for longer.
2000s – 2024: The "Feel-Good" Era
We entered the era of invisible, weightless protection. We launched mists that apply in seconds and Clear & Protect—suncare that’s invisible and with no stickiness. We made sun protection a seamless, feel-good part of every family’s daily routine.
