A red that doesn't fade, even when you want it to.
Colour turned out well; my hair was dyed auburn, but my ashy brown & grey roots were coming through and I was unable to have it coloured before going away. Lasting four weeks, I thought the 6.6 would be perfect and would have faded in time for my next hair appointment. Unfortunately, despite going on undyed roots (about 30% grey), the colour didn't fade - whilst the lather from washing my hair was tinged pink for the first two washes, that was it. I tried clarifying shampoos, anti-dandruff shampoos, even resorting to a vitamin C paste, but nothing. After 7 weeks, I still had a noticeably darker stripe from this dye and a strand test showed that my usual colour didn't help disguise it. Reluctant to bleach my hair, and faced with the prospect of having this stubborn inch of darker dye slowly moving down my hair as it grows, I've had my hair cut from 4" below my shoulders to a pixie cut. This colour is now at the ends of my hair. As I hadn't had my roots done again, i decided to try an at-home colour remover that would target only the dyed pigment...for a dye that's meant to fade in 4 weeks, it's proving a right pain to remove! It's lifted to a pinkish dark copper, which I can colour and have it cut out over the next couple of months, but I'm not keen on this because short red hair doesn't suit me - which leaves me with the option of bleaching it and going for a blonde colour (natural colour isn't an option either!).
Whether I had a faulty sachet, or is just reacted badly to the grey, I don't know. I definitely won't be using it again though.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This was easy to use and the colour match was exactly the same as my hair. The instructions were clear and there was no over possessive smell. I like how easy it was to mix. My hair felt glossy and sleek after use
this is an update to my previous post. My hair went from a medium auburn to black using this. They did pay for me to have colour correction with a hair dresser but my hair is absolutely fried where as it was my crowning glory - it has massively knocked my confidence and it will take years to grow out the damage. I can see there is now a warning on the webpage about not putting it on lightened/bleached hair or you will get a darker result but I doubt this is on the instructions in the pack and if you pick a colour with blonde in the name you don’t expect to go back. I am so upset about my hair and I don’t want anybody else to go through this.
Great price yes, convenient yes but that is about it. Half of my hair is pitch black. Why do you even sell such a colour scale when the result is just one black or more black.
My hair was the same as on the front of the dark blonde packet. I put it on my roots and brushed it through to the ends. I am now virtually black, and patchy so it’s a total disaster. My expensive salon colour which I was trying to prolong is obliterated. I am not sure what I am going to do other than cry and spend money to put it right. No I do not recommend the dark blonde shade because it is black! My hair is ruined.
I would normally use a Clairol root touch up which always gives great results but I saw the Garnier colour retouch and, as I use the all over Garnier colour, it made sense to try their root touch up. I used the product exactly as per the instructions and my hair has come out almost black. Garnier have taken no responsibility explaining is would be down to the condition of my hair etc and offered me a £3.75 refund..... absolutely insulting. A professional salon has quoted between £150 to £220 to bleach and recolour with a 4 hour appointment. I have now seen many other reviews on here with the same issue, this is not acceptable and Garnier should not be selling this product knowing there is a risk that hair will be much darker than described.
This product was perfect for touching up my roots as mine grow out so quickly, this product saved me dieing my whole head.
The colour was a good match too, highly recommend and would definitely use again.
