Our Recycling Commitment

Garnier is committed to sustainable, environmentally-friendly beauty – we strive to preserve biodiversity and minimise our impact on the planet. We continue to look for ways to reduce packaging, increase the use of recycled materials within it and work with our consumers to recycle it. All our cardboard and paper-based packaging is FSC-certified and we are significantly reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions from our factories.

Why Is Beauty Waste An Issue Why Is Beauty Waste An Issue

Why Is Beauty Waste An Issue

Most of us are pretty good about recycling kitchen waste but when it comes to the beauty products on our bathroom shelves we still have work to do! That's why we are making it easier to recycle Garnier beauty products. Now, no matter where you live, in the UK or Republic of Ireland, if you can’t recycle through your local waste collection – send it to TerraCycle® and we’ll make sure it’s recycled. Not only will you have the quiet satisfaction of doing the right thing, you will also raise money for good causes. For every item of Garnier packaging sent to us you’ll receive TerraCycle® points that can be redeemed as cash donations to your favourite non-profit organisation – which might be a school, a community centre, a sports club or a charity.

A note on aerosol containers

At this time Garnier aerosols are not accepted as part of the recycling scheme. We are exploring with TerraCycle® the potential for their inclusion in the future, however the good news is that in most parts of the UK, aerosol recycling is possible. More than 75% of local authorities recycle aerosols through kerbside collections. Please visit your local council website to find out how you can recycle aerosols locally. Always make sure your aerosols are empty and recycle the aerosol lids separately.
